Sedge blanket - Pattern

This blanket is so easy to make.
Even so the texture is so great and by choosing some good colors you can make one good looking blanket.

The Pattern:

Note: It's better to use a bigger hook than you usually would with the yarn you choose. If the blanket is to tightly crocheted it will be stiff and not very comfortable.

Chain a multiple of 3, then add 2 extra chains.

Rnd 1: 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 dc in same ch, *jump over 2 ch, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc all in 3rd ch from hook*, repeat till there are 3 ch left, jump over 2 ch, 1 sc in last ch.

Rnd 2: Turn around. Ch 1, 1 hdc, 1 dc in 1st st (or prev rnd last sc), *jump over 2 st, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc all in 3rd st from hook (prev rnd sc)*, repeat till there are 3 st left, jump over 2 st, 1 sc in prev rnd 1st ch.
(It can be pretty tricky getting that 1st chain of prev rnd, but it gets easier as it you go).

Repeat rnd 2 until the blanket is as long as you need it to be.

The Border:

Before I crochet a border around the Sedge blanket I do a round or two of sc. Then I do the border that interests me the most that day.

Good luck and have a great time c",)
